Craig Ford is the European brand manager for the cult Japanese clothing companies A Bathing Ape and Billionaires Boys Club/Ice Cream. Ford, who is 38, lives with his wife Rachel Thomas, an art director, in Clerkenwell, London. His seminal influence on British fashion dates back to the early ’90s as the Scotsman immediately took interest to the likes of Duffer of St. George and Chevignon in his late teens. Over the years, Ford’s involvement in the London and British fashion scene has included involvement with A Bathing Ape in which he was one of the key members to bring the brand outside the confines of Japan with BAPE STORE London. Now operating a successful showroom and agency, he counts brands such as Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream, Mr. Bathing Ape, Human Made, Chevignon, Gourmet, aNYthing, Raleigh Denim and AMBUSH as all under his supervision. In the video below Hypebeast TV speak with him regarding his past and notably about Britain’s inspiration subcultures which were a catalyst for so many movements.
