Anna & Boy, new collection from Australia's 'go-to-label' for beach cool

The label began in September 2005 when fashion editors, Anna Hewett & Lill Jenner left Vogue Australia to begin a dynamic new fashion label, Anna & Boy. Born from their realisation that fashionable beach babes and boys needed more fashionable beach options. Their first collection was an instant success bought by boutique stores including the highly regarded Browns of London and the Belinda stores in Australia. The label has developed a loyal following and has grown to 55 boutique stockists across Australia and many more throughout the world. Along with a strong department store presence, most notably in Barneys stores in the US and David Jones stores in Australia.

Up-tempo and feminine in feel, Anna & Boy’s women’s collection has a modern prettiness that re-interprets the sixties style of a young Goldie Hawn or Britt Ekland for a present-day beach babe. The Spring/Summer 11112 collection especially evokes these kind of images – a sixties Malibu beach scene complete with backless mini dresses, cropped cigarette pants and cute crop tops. Prints for summer include the obligatory saturated stripe, a kooky pineapple print, lipstick kisses, spearmint ‘Minty Daze’ and ‘Milkshake’.

With an ever-growing clothing collection, the duo are becoming as known for their refreshing take on Summer dressing out of the water as much as they are for their swimwear. With the men’s shorts achieving almost cult-like status amongst the fashionable around town for their unique, vintage-inspired look. Anna and Lil have also just returned back to Australia from Miami where they took part in Salon Allure, a luxury resort trade show. With interest from Selfridges, Fenwicks, Harvey Nichols and Saks there is no doubt that Anna & Boy is destined for big things.
