For the last 20 years, Leftfield have been tirelessly helping to shape electronic music as we know it today. Widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in dance music history, they’re discography features anthems like “Phat Planet”, “Open Up”, “Release The Pressure” and “Afrika Shox” and two all-time classic albums – 1995’s ‘Leftism’ which placed #34 in Q Magazine’s Top 100 British Albums Ever, and 1999’s ‘Rhythm and Stealth' which enjoyed number one status in charts all over the world. Recently reforming for 2010’s Creamfields festival, Leftfield are back with a vengeance and their hallmark blend of House, Dub, Progressive and blissful Electronica is laying claim to the dancefloors and iPods of an entirely new generation of international clubbers and electronic music lovers. Neil Barnes has confirmed who will be joining him in front of the legendary Sound System in 2011. Original vocalists Djum Djum, Earl 16, and Cheshire Cat, all of whom played key roles in one or both of Leftfield’s classic albums ‘Leftism’ and ‘Rhythm & Stealth’, will be joining Neil for the shows. Completing the live line up will be Adam Wren (keyboards), Jess Mills (Vocals), Kwes Sey (Keyboards) and Sebastian Beresford on drums. Paul Daley, Neil’s former partner in Leftfield, will not be taking part in the shows. Neil Barnes says “The opportunity to perform the songs to a whole new audience with the original vocalists is an opportunity that I simply couldn’t turn down. The goodwill surrounding the live show has overwhelmed me, the expectation is tremendous. I simply can’t wait to blow everybody away –literally.”
