PAUL van DYK presents Evolution Stage at Future Music Festival in 2012!
Grammy-nominated Paul van Dyk is without question one of the biggest electronic dance music artists in the world today with a rich and legendary history stretching back to the early 90's. He has proven himself to be an unstoppable force consistently finishing in the Top 5 in most major DJ magazine polls.
Now after a 5 year absence, Australian trance fans are eagerly awaiting his return to our shores especially following the news that he will be presenting his very own Evolution arena, featuring bespoke staging and production designed by him in Berlin along with awe-inspiring visuals.
He debuted his new Evolution show, in the Sahara Tent at Coachella in April and the integrated audio-visual show was the result of intensive development.
In an interview with Chinashop he explained “Over the last few years, individual live production became more and more important in the touring circle, and I was looking into what was going on. There are quite a lot of impressive screens, but I realized that there’s no real creative input on those screens. This is when I reached out to the people who are pretty much fucking amazing at what they do and I explained what my aim is and where I wanted to go. The new album is called Evolution, so we’d sit together and have hours and hours of conversation about all these different paths that evolution takes. The intro starts with the nebula, and of course the Big Bang, which is the big kick off, then it goes into the developing of the planets and individual life. Then it goes into our architectural grids and multimedia world, so basically all those different elements of the show are featured visually. Ollie Metcalfe, who I’m working with, is not just a video designer. He’s a light designer and a stage designer. He does all that together. Therefore it always feels together, and the light design features the visual design, and the stage design is incorporated with the video and lights. It’s all quite complex, but it’s really exciting”.
PVD’s new album 'Evolution' has been confirmed for release in March 2012, just in time for Future Music Festival. His first studio album since 2007's 'In Between' and his first full length offering since 2008's 'The Best Of Paul van Dyk' the new record will feature 16 tracks in total. Paul van Dyk said that “Evolution” is an album that demonstrates my personal evolution as an artist, rather than what is a reflection of the latest trendy sound. My advisors are saying it’s the best music I’ve done.”
Accompanying PVD is an all-star cast including Garuda’s Gareth Emery, voted no.7 in the worlds Top 100 DJ’s in 2010; Emery is the youngest DJs ever to crack the top ten. John O’Callaghan is a fully fledged member of the DJ elite, a masterful spinner, his high-octane trance mix coupled with a much-honed precision mixing style has seen him surge up through the DJ ranks. Orjan Nilsen is without a doubt one of trance’s brightest young stars having skyrocketed to worldwide acclaim for both his production work and also his ability to get the crowd fired up, playing a variation of the more chunky and groovy trance music, with big influences from tech-house and techno

Paul van Dyk
In the world of Trance, names don’t come any bigger than Germany’s Paul van Dyk – nor do career achievements or accolades, for that matter. The veritable electronic maestro behind classic anthems like ‘For An Angel’, ‘Words’, ‘Another Way’, ‘Beautiful Place’, ‘We Are Alive’ and ‘Forbidden Fruit’, PvD – as he’s known and loved by his army of international die-hard fans – helped shape the Trance genre as we know it today through his sublime production skills and musical sensibilities. From releasing no less than six top-selling studio albums (that have sold in excess of 4.5 million copies) to composing soundtracks for movies like Into The Blue and The Dark Knight, and from featuring in DJ Mag’s Top Ten every year since 1998 to running the world’s leading Trance label (Vandit Records); Paul van Dyk is a DJ/Producer giant amongst DJ/Producers.

Gareth Emery
Since first capturing the attention of the likes of Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell and Pete Tong with his white label remix of The Shrinks’ ‘Nervous Breakdown’ back in 2002, UK DJ/Producer Gareth Emery has quickly risen to become one of Trance music’s brightest stars and most prodigious talents. From delivering forward-thinking anthems like ‘Mistral’, ‘Psiclone’ and ‘Flood Control’ to regularly appearing at the world’s most revered clubs (including Godskitchen, Slinky and The Gallery) and hosting one of the most popular, decorated and downloaded podcasts on the web; Gareth proudly sits at #7 in the coveted DJ Mag Top 100 and is widely tipped to reach even greater heights in 2012. With his own label, Garuda, hosting sell-out club nights in the UK and releasing chart-topping tracks from both himself and stars like M.I.K.E, Beltek and Ben Preston, Gareth Emery’s meteoric rise to the top is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Fresh, original and innovative: Gareth Emery is the undisputed future of Trance.

John O’Callahan
A genuine superstar of trance, Ireland’s finest John O’Callahan is a fully fledged member of the DJ elite, as evidenced by his number 33 position in the 2010 DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll. Notable for playing high-energy trance with a refined precision- mixing style, John has spun at some of the world’s highest-profile clubs, arenas and festivals, including Trance Energy, Globalgathering, the WMC in Miami and Rain in Las Vegas and he’s also a regular fixture in Ibiza. When not behind the decks John’s busy working magic in the studio; he’s released over 50 productions to date on some of the most respected labels in the industry. Early anthems like The Chamber, Exactly and Space & Time became mainstays of DJ sets and even prompted Paul van Dyk to comment that he is “one of the most exciting producers in the world today”. Soon after, John produced the trance classic Big Sky, which was voted the No.1 trance tune of 2007 on Armin van Buuren’s ASOT show. Find Yourself, taken from the Never Fade Away album, has had massive global success, notably reaching a monumental 2 million Youtube views to date. John also has his own radio show and record label (both called Subculture) and is a highly in-demand remixer.

Ørjan Nilsen
Norwegian trance and progressive DJ Ørjan Nilsen is known for his ability to get the crowd fired up, playing a variation of the more chunky and groovy trance music, with big influences from tech-house and techno. His continuous hard work and a flair for production has given us tracks like La Guitarra, So Long Radio, Go Fast, Lovers Lane and many many more. For the summer of 2011 – a new album is in the works, the hype around Ørjan has been at an all- time high with industry heavyweights like Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, & Markus Schulz hammering tracks like Go Fast!, Mjuzik and the forthcoming Between The Rays was featured on the prominent A State Of Trance 2011
