Matthias Tanzmann “Restless” album tour MATTHIAS Since he started DJing in 1997 Matthias’s musical output has revolved around more than just functional club music, regardless of whether it’s on the turntables or in the studio. Combining subtle arrangements that ride the deep vibes that lie between House and Techno, yet never forgetting the drive for the dance floor- that is what Matthias Tanzmann’s music is about. Together with Daniel Scholz he founded Gamat 3000 at the end of the 90’s. With releases on Dessous Recordings, Freude am Tanzen and FM Musik they quickly made a name for themselves in the German House scene. In 2000, Matthias started Moon Harbour label as well releasing his solo debut “Rose Garden”. In parallel to the success of Moon Harbour and Gamat 3000, he also rapidly advanced to becoming one of the most booked German House DJ’s. By 2007 he had released numerous EP’s, three mix compilations and remixed tracks by Moby, Wighnomy Bros., Marlow, Terry Lee Brown Jr. and Dapayk & Padberg. Collaboration with other artists is also very important for Matthias. Together with Steve Bug and Daniel Stefanik, he has produced various EPs, drawing inspiration from the new dynamics and sounds that the collaborative process can create. While over the years his tracks have developed from classical Deep House with a European edge, through to Minimal House bordering on ambitious Techno, groove and deepness were and still are the essential elements of Matthias Tanzmann’s music RESTLESS It’s been seven years now since Matthias Tanzmann teamed up with Daniel Scholz under the Gamat 3000 umbrella and released the ‘All Seasons’ album on Dessous Recordings. Back then this relaxed deep house understatement was the flavor of the month. Now Matthias Tanzmann presents the grown up, world-travelled solo debut album ‘Restless’. Not just the album title, but also track names like Keep On, Flight Mode or Redirected reflect a packed international DJ booking schedule over the last few years. Musically he has developed significantly over these seven years. Fully committed to deep house in the beginning, his tracks and sets have become more functional over time. ‘Restless’ opens a new door for Matthias Tanzmann’s music, and new influences are abound in many of the album tracks. With a distinctive love of percussion as a key new element, he often uses percussive sounds as the hook line of his tracks. Check Rugby, Keep On or Crazy Circus for example. The focus of these tracks, more than ever before in Tanzmann’s productions, is mainly on rhythm and groove. The collected experience of a seasoned world-class DJ is perfectly reflected. All titles of ‘Restless’ have their own place in the time span of an imaginary club night, from a relaxed start-up mood, to prime time action, to hypnotic fade-outs in the early morning.
